Kosher Food in Berlin — What You Need to Know
Berlin has a relatively small kosher food scene. Options are concentrated mostly in the western part of the city — and knowing which establishments hold current certification and who their certifying authority is, makes all the difference.
This guide is curated and maintained by the team behind the Bobbe Group — practitioners in Berlin’s kosher food space.
While we maintain a commercial service, this guide is intended to serve as a useful resource for the broader community. Our aim is to provide clear, structured, and reliable information about current kosher options in Berlin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Berlin a good destination for kosher travelers?
Yes, as long as expectations are realistic and you prepare in advance. Berlin is manageable for kosher visitors, but it is not a city where you should assume plentiful walk-in kosher options.
Do I need to plan ahead for kosher food in Berlin?
Yes. Berlin has kosher options, but the selection is quite limited so that advance planning is strongly recommended, especially for Shabbat, holidays, larger groups, or short visits.
Can I find kosher food in both East and West Berlin?
The options are limited and spread out, but the western part of Berlin is currently significantly better for kosher options. It is worth planning ahead based on where you are staying and which type of kosher food you need. Refer to our Kosher Stay Guide
Where should I stay if I want easy access to kosher food?
It is best to choose accommodation based on the specific restaurants, shops, or Jewish institutions you plan to use. Because Berlin is large, proximity matters more than it might in more compact destinations.
Are there kosher restaurants in Berlin?
Yes. Berlin has some kosher restaurants, cafés, and bakeries. See the restaurant list above for current options and details.
Where can I buy kosher groceries in Berlin?
There are dedicated kosher shops in Berlin, along with some additional products that may be available elsewhere. See the shops section above for the main addresses and options.
Are there meat, dairy, and bakery options in Berlin?
Yes. Depending on the venue, you can find kosher meat restaurant, café items, baked goods, and grocery products. The lists above indicate the different types of kosher options available.

No. Kosher venues in Berlin may rely on different rabbis, certificates, or supervisory arrangements. See the certification section above to compare the relevant details before choosing where to eat or shop.
